NSL Communications -innovation revolves around a flexible sub-reflector that compensates for any reflector shape imperfections. This does away with expensive, poor performing satellites by enabling a nano satellite to be sent into space with a 55cm diameter antenna folded up, greatly reducing launch load and costs. Once in orbit, the satellite’s antenna expands and the proprietary flexible sub-reflector enhances transmitting precision and power by as much as 500x.

LeoSat Enterprises is planning to launch a constellation of as many as 108 LEO communications satellites—the company has now entered into a strategic agreement with the Globalsat Group, the leading Pan-American satellite services provider, to market what LeoSat refers to as "the fastest, most secure and widest coverage HTS data network in the world." The LeoSat system is being developed in conjunction with Thales Alenia Space, a company with unmatched expertise in designing and manufacturing LEO constellations. The high-throughput satellites (HTS) will form a mesh network interconnected through laser links, creating an optical backbone in space which is about 1.5 times faster than terrestrial fiber backbones, thereby creating a paradigm shift in the use of satellites for data connectivity.
