  • French Officials agree to produce 890 OneWeb CubeSat constellation

    Airbus Defense and Space has been selected by OneWeb’s founder, Greg Wyler, as its industrial partner for the design and manufacturing of its fleet of microsatellites.Capital Alpha Partners, an insider Washington DC USA provider of strategic policy research to financial institutions, has announced that Airbus Defense and Space (Airbus Group) will manufacture 890 Ku-band Cubesats and be a co-owner of the OneWeb, space venture. Founded in 2007, Capital Alpha was originally part of Prudential Equity Group and closely connected to the U.S. Defense Industry.

    Al Tadros, Vice President at Space Systems Loral (SSL), a leading provider of innovative satellites and spacecraft systems meets with the Managing Director of GMCstream, Richard Kusiolek.  SSL is a subsidiary of MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates, Ltd. (TSX:MDA), a global communications and information company. Space Systems/Loral LLC, Palo Alto, California, has been awarded a $15,000,000 firm-fixed-price other transaction for prototype agreement for the Robotic Servicing of Geosynchronous Satellites (RSGS) program. There are no options on the agreement. Fiscal 2016 research and development funds in the amount of $1,000,000 are being obligated at time of award. Work will be performed in Palo Alto, California, with an expected completion date of December 2021. This agreement was a competitive acquisition (program solicitation No. DARPA-PS-16-01).  Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Arlington, Virginia, is the contracting activity (HR0011-17-9-0003).
