The growth promised by the $9.1 billion acquisition of Sikorsky from United Technology comes with many migraines for the CEO of Lockheed Martin.Marilyn Hewson. Before Hewson agreed to buy Sikorsky, United Technology announced cutting the Sikorsky global workforce by nearly 10 percent as low oil prices reduce demand for the helicopter maker's commercial aircraft to ferry workers to offshore rigs. According to a DowJones unit, “fourth-quarter Lockheed Martin revenue is forecast at $11.9 billion compared with $12.53 billion a year earlier when a late surge helped Lockheed avoid another sequential drop in annual sales. LM’s sales should rise to $51.4 billion in 2016, with per-share earnings of $12.28.”
Bell Helicopter is a supplier of military and commercial helicopters, tiltrotor aircraft, and related spare parts and services in the world. The Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey is now being seen globally at forward bases along the Russian borders and the war zones of Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria. “Textron reported Aviation revenue to be $1.49 billion, Bell revenue at $1.04 billion, and Systems revenue to be $463 million, while Industrial revenue totaled $917 million. Fiscal year 2015 (FY15) EPS clocked in at $2.50, against $2.15 in FY14.”
