  • GMCStream FLASH NEWS 5/24/21 – SpaceX & Artemis Win

    "NASA is getting ready to send astronauts to explore more of the Moon as part of the Artemis program, and the agency has selected SpaceX to continue development of the first commercial human lander that will safely carry the next two American astronauts to the lunar surface. At least one of those astronauts will make history as the first woman on the Moon.

    Robert L. Behnken, Colonel USAF-Active NASA Astronaut: Robert L. Behnken was selected as an astronaut in 2000 and is a veteran of two space flights. He is currently assigned to train to fly the initial test flights for America’s first commercially built spacecraft, and is one of four astronauts selected to fly aboard the Boeing CST-100 Starliner or SpaceX Dragon. He and his crewmates are working with the commercial providers to develop their spacecraft systems, which will eventually provide crew transportation services to the International Space Station. The test flights are scheduled for 2017. Behnken has flown on STS-123 and STS-130, logging more than 708 hours in space.

Tony Castilleja, Jr was also involved with wind tunnel testing technical support for the CST-100 model at NASA Ames where he conducted CST-100 Mass Properties Analysis in support of the Preliminary Design Review to identify spacecraft updates and achieve on-time delivery of the Mass Properties Report which exceeded NASA customer expectations.
