    Even though the US Defense Budget declined somewhat, the political support has grown to increase the budget due to global tensions in the South China Seas and the war in Syria.

  • During the Iraq War, the USS Firebolt (PC-10) had a crew of 30 sailors and tasked with coastal patrol and interdiction surveillance in the Persian Gulf. Twelve years later a new breed of patrol boats have been designed and in service in the Persian Gulf.

  • The Hong Qi 9 or HQ-9 is a Chinese air defense missile system. It is broadly equivalent to the Russian S-300. Mozhaisky Military Space Academy in the Russian port city of St. Petersburg has designed the system and Almaz-Antei manufacturers the S-300 & the S-400.  

  • Airbus Defense and Space has been selected by OneWeb’s founder, Greg Wyler, as its industrial partner for the design and manufacturing of its fleet of microsatellites.Capital Alpha Partners, an insider Washington DC USA provider of strategic policy research to financial institutions, has announced that Airbus Defense and Space (Airbus Group) will manufacture 890 Ku-band Cubesats and be a co-owner of the OneWeb, space venture.
